Update on Myanmar

I know that many in your parishes have been interested in supporting Mothers' Union's relief work in Myanmar. As you know, we did not have much information, and like other charities involved, were finding phone and email connections were not operating. However I'm delighted to be able to share news with you from our community development worker, Cynthia. Please do share this in your diocese, and to ensure those donating to the relief fund that we are able to use their funding to really positive affect.

I can give you some of the information on Nagis Cyclone effected to our Parishes especially Delta area and Yangon area. In Delta area 10 Parishes were effected and one of the Parishes was damaged with 11villages. We travelled to that ares for 4 times already for rescue and distributed blankets, moskitonets, food and other nessary for the houses. For the 4th trip also support for resettlement materials and the needs of lifelihood for the families who left at these villages. The Central Relief Committee was closely working with the Parishes for the community. Please remember in your prayer. Thank you very much our sisters who really concern on us and helping in many way.
